MATARIKI  NAMES

The seven stars are stars.When it is matariki you will see the seven sisters in the sky at sort of in the middle of 11o’clock and 3am i think.Also the new moon starts so you can’t see the moon because it’s forming another moon.These are the seven sisters name’s (they are not in order tho)Tupu-a nuku,Waipuna-a-rangi,Uru-a-rangi,Waiti,Waita & MATARIKI!!!

CELEBRATION

When matariki is celebrated they do all sorts of things like make kites,do weving,facepainting,kapa haka,make baskets/bags,play games and all sorts of other things.It would be so cool to bring this tradishin back so my school is doing a night at school celebrating.We are doing lantens sitting around a camp fire and lots more.It is going to be so awesome.

FOOD PREPARATION

During matariki fat birds were caught in snares.Plump winter birds are cooked in hangi are preserved in fat.Kumara gardens are kept well. Lampreys travel up river from the sea coast swamp in winter.Lampreys look like eel.They have no mouth just around,rough sucker.Fat adult lampreys swimming upriver were a favourite food in winter.weirs were built to trap them.

CONCLUSION

This is what I have learnt about matariki and the maori way and how they survived winter,summer,spring & autumn.

Pan       600g beef mince

Pot       zucchini

Mixing bowl       carrot

Grater       onion

Sharp knife          oil

Equipment:      Pasta:

Pot        pasta

Stove                                                               sauce  water colander                                         2 cans of pasta sauce

HOW TO COOK MEATBALLS:

First you grate the zucchini,carrots & onion.Then Get your 600 grams of meat and mash it up.Then add the things you grated.Then mix and add an egg.then roll in an size that you like.Put your pan on medium and add 3 tsp of oil on the pan.Put the meatballs on the pan.Flip them until they go sort of gold.Then take off and put on a plate.

HOW TO COOK PASTA:

First you get a pot and boil it on the stove then add the pasta.when the pasta is all the way at the bottom you get the colander and quickly run it under water so it doesn’t stick together.Then add the 2 cans of pasta sauce and then you are done.

HOW TO PLATE :

First you get a fork and swirl it around and put it on the plate you will need to 5 or more it depends on the size of your plate.Then put your meatballs on top of the pasta then put parsley or rosemary on top with a sprinkle of cheese. THEN ENJOY!!! But first you need to clean up your mess.And then you can enjoy!!!

Animals Should be Kept in Zoos !!! If you don’t agree with me then you might need to go to the doctors. Listen to my opinions and you might change your mind. Did you know that if animals are sick, injured or hurt then they can get help in a zoo. Also because they are in a zoo animals don’t need to struggle to find food. Lastly We don’t usually see animals that we see in the zoo!!! Sick and injured animals!!! Zookeepers are always there to help sick and injured animals. Because there is a hospital at the zoo for animals!!! “Yeah but what about the food chain?” We don’t need the food chain anymore because we can save animals in zoos. so they don’t get extinct like dinosaurs. Not only do zoos help sick, hurt or injured animals but they also ensure that animals don’t need to struggle to find food. Struggle to find food!!! Zookeepers are always there to feed the animals. Because that is zookeepers jobs. Zookeepers are always there to get feed because i have seen the zookeepers feed them so they never get hungry!!! “Yeah but animals can find food themselves.Big animals can find food but not baby animals if they are alone. Because they can be food and get eaten by predators. Not only can zookeepers help sick,injured or hurt animals but also zoos has animals that we don’t usually get to see. Seeing animals that we don’t see!!! We don’t see chameleon monkeys,kangaroo , lion & tigers but we have a zoo now so we can see this exciting animals . I know this because my aunty is in the air force so see has been around the world and seen these animals in real life in the wild .All of these animals have to get used to different temperatures. Conclusion!!! So now that you have heard my opinions surely you agree with me for reminder If animals are sick ,injured or hurt zookeepers are always there to help also animals don’t need to struggle and we get to see animals that we don’t usually see . Homework recount.(holidays)

In the holidays I had netball training and my mum she always brought the kids because they could not stay at home with my brothers. They don't look after them properly,so they were annoying,mum was angry because people didn’t turn up or didn’t text or let mum now.

I was ment to go to napier but i had training but my nan came down with my nan and it was a surprise we didn’t know they were coming down but the dumb thing is that they only stayed one night and then they left because my nan had work on tuesday.

How To Make An Incredible

Sandwich!!!

Have you tasted the incredible chicken and letters sandwich. I know what I what . A hot,mayo,tasty chicken and letters sandwich . And there is a special way to make it taste incredible. Listen how to make it and you will always eat it.

Getting The Ingredients!!!

First you need to look out for the necessary ingredients. Next in the pantry you will find the white bread . I eat 2 sandwiches so you will need 4 slices of bread.also soft butter and bests foods mayo. In the refrigerator you will find letters and maybe chicken. Then I get out crockery,this includes forks,plates,and a butter knife.The last thing you will need to be by a power plug for the microwave to work. Speaking of microwaves I like a silver flash microwave that my aunty brot and she was going to throw it out so i asked if i can have it. If you aren’t dy a power plug then your chicken will not be hot and thats the best part.

Make The Sandwich!!!

First after you have got in all of the ingredients you need to spread the dread on the plate so its not on top of each dread. Next get some soft butter and butter the dread (make sore you don't rip the dread )with the butter knife.Spread the mayo over the butter. But make sure that you wash the knife because the butter might go into the mayo jar. So it will ruin the taste if you use it again it will taste weird. Then you need to wash the letters and rip or cut the green bits off and spread it over the mayo. Speaking of knives I like a medium silver sized one that my mum bort when she was 16 years old she was going to through out but i asked if i can have it. The last thing is you have to put the cooked chicken over the letters and then place a bread over the chicken.And wala but before you injoy you need to clean up.

TOO MUCH WORK.

After school you have to do too much work .Sometimes i get tired from working too hard  . “Yeah, but homework makes you brainy” But because you have been working so hard at school, you are usually tired by the time you get home and you might fall asleep while you are doing homework Not only do you have to do more work after school but also you might get a headache from working too hard.

GETTING TO MUCH HEADACHES.

you might get a headache from working too hard. I know this might happen because one time i got a headache from doing too much homework. I hear you say, ”Yeah but you can get good grades if you do all your homework”. To that I say that you can get good grades by trying your very best at school without doing extra work at home. Not only might you get a headache from working too hard but also homework wastes too much time.

WASTING TO MUCH TIME.

Homework waste too much time. People would rather spend all of that time with their family. Just like my cousin Kyden, he didn’t know that he had a new baby cousin because he was too busy trying to get his homework done. ”yeah but you can learn more things” I think you can learn lots by hanging out with your family, especially my cousin. He could be learning about how to care for a baby..

So now you should change your mind. For reminder.too much work, getting too much headaches and wasting time on homework !!!

ALL ABOUT ME Hi my name is Jahvana. I am 11 years old I have 1 little sister Dakota,1 little brother Trend,me,1 older brother Rohan & another older brother Saphae.( I am the middle child in my family ).My friends are Asha O’gorman ,justina,lysha&johnathan taitapanui & more my best friend is DYANI KEVIN TAYLOR.My favourite thing to do in my spare time is practicing softball . I was born in  31/07/2004  in hamilton hospital .I have had 7 pets 4 cats the oldints cats was kavo 2 oldints cat is kiara the 3 oldest cat is simba & the youngest cat is nala,I have 3 dogs The oldest dogs name is socco then reka & jamie  he is named after my uncle that passed away.

          My favourite hobbies (likes & dislikes) are softball ,sports, games and more things I love what i dont like is pork ribbes and seeing other people bulling other people.My streghts are sports and lots  more My goal for my live is to have fun and  achieve my goals. My real dad is ugene ( geno) That is where my maori comes from.I get my cook island from my mum.              

My nan writes all of her grand children's name with where DOB too but she writes all of my cousins names and DOB rite but not me she write like this Javarnea and my dob like this 13/07/2002 instead of Jahvana & 31/07/2004 so my mum always tells her it's not write but she still writes it wrong.

I have been playing softball for 4 or 5 years,my favorite book is Diary of a wimpy kid series, my favorite food is butter chicken and more, my favourite sport is  softball i also sort of like netball , I like going to the center & north city plaza,

Whanaungatanga means  your family & friends it's when you keer about your friend and family contribute  to things that your friends or family are doing  even if you are scared of it.Also I feel welcome when I play softball with my team because they support me and make me feel welcomed to the team.I done whanaungatanga because I let little kids play when I whey  ask to.

RUBBISH BEACH

!!! RUBBISH BEACH !!!

Uur yuck the water smells like a bath that hasn’t been changed in 50 years. It smells bad like a bin has been tipped into the sea. I feel like spewing when I'm by the beach.

I’m surrounded by rubbish & dead fish. I feel like spewing in my stomach. My nose feels like it can’t smell anymore. The rubbish and dead fish slow me down. Sweat dripping down my face and I have sweat in my fingers.

I feel disgusted and gross I can hear birds tweeting, cars beeping, water bloping and people chatting but the smell,smells like the water is polluted and rotten,it is filthy. I can’t stand this mess it's so messy I don’t want to fall in.
